Heart Rhythm disorders

Heart rhythm disorders are referred to as "arrhythmias". Arrhythmias usually present as an abnormal awareness of the heart beat ("palpitation"). They can present with breathlessness, chest pain, or blackouts.

In many cases there is nothing to worry about, but you should be checked by an expert in heart rhythm disorders to make sure. The majority of cardiologists do not have a special interest in heart rhythm disorders so do check that the doctor you see has this speciality.

I work almost exclusively with arrhythmia pateints so can give you the help you need.

In some cases treatment with drugs may be needed. In many cases a curative treatment called ablation can be carried out. In others a pacemaker or defibrillator (ICD) may be needed.
